In a historic turn of events, the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) has achieved a complete clean sweep in the 2026 elections, winning all 30 seats in Parliament. This marks the third consecutive election victory for the BLP under the leadership of Prime Minister Mia Mottley, further solidifying their control over the House of Assembly. The Democratic Labour Party (DLP), which formerly held a single seat, has lost its only parliamentary representation. Before the election, the seat distribution was 29 seats for BLP and 1 for DLP. However, post-election, it stands at BLP 30, DLP 0. This unprecedented victory thus leaves Parliament without any opposition MPs.
