The organization underscores the importance of not clicking on any included links or providing personal or financial information in response to these fraudulent messages.
To verify the authenticity of any communication, individuals should ensure it is official correspondence from the BIR, which is identifiable by a unique Letter ID. The BIR encourages the public to reach out directly through established channels for any inquiries. This includes calling 800-TAXX (8299) and selecting Option 1, visiting their official website, or going to the nearest IRD office.
