৩০০ বস্তা ইউরিয়া নিয়ে ট্রাক উল্টে পড়ল পুকুরে

A truck carrying 300 bags of urea (approximately 15 metric tonnes) overturned into a pond in the Govora Union of Tangail’s Mirzapur area on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred on a narrow road in the Govora Union’s Governmentpura area, according to local reports. The truck was returning from the Norsingdi Horse Stall Fertilizer Factory with the urea load. While navigating the tight road, the driver lost control and the vehicle tipped into the adjacent pond. The driver and his assistant fled the scene and remain at large. Local residents attempted to recover the submerged fertilizer, but the urea dissolved in the water, rendering it unusable. Urea dealer Amjad Hasan said the narrow road contributed to the accident and estimated the loss at about 400,000 Bangladeshi taka. Police responded to the scene after receiving the report. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abdullah Al Mamun, confirmed that no casualties were reported and that the authorities had attempted to salvage the vehicle. The incident was reported to higher officials by the Union’s agriculture officer, Mahmuda Khatoon. The affected dealer had been allocated 70 metric tonnes of urea for the current season; 15 metric tonnes were lost in the incident. Additional fertilizer supplies are available in the district, and arrangements will be made with the district agriculture officer to provide alternative allocations for the union.
