Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently visited the Lokhandwala residence of actor Babil Khan for a vlog, offering a detailed look at the home he shares with his mother, Sutapa Sikdar, and his younger brother, Ayan. During the visit, Khan described the property as one of the most beautiful residences she has toured. The home features a blend of Bohemian textures and traditional decor. The living area is anchored by a large wooden indoor swing that separates the dining and relaxation spaces. The room is furnished with grey couches, antique wooden wall panels designed as jharokhas, and various creative elements, including a small stone pond. A dedicated corner serves as a memorial to Babil’s father, the late actor Irrfan Khan, featuring a monochrome portrait, a framed poster of his film Qissa, and fresh flowers. The residence also includes a dining area with a long wooden table and high-back floral chairs, set against walls with rustic wooden mirrors. A notable feature of the living space is a ping-pong table, which Babil Khan noted is frequently used by the family. The living area opens onto a balcony filled with potted plants. Babil’s bedroom functions as both a living space and a music studio. The room is equipped with a workstation, a digital keyboard, a gaming console, and audio equipment. Eight guitars are mounted on the wall, and the room also contains a wooden cajón drum box, a treadmill, a leather massage chair, and an adjustable ceiling-mounted projector. The tour also included a brief look at his brother Ayan’s music studio. During the visit, Farah Khan and her cook, Dilip, prepared dahi chicken with Babil. The collaboration served as an opportunity for Khan and Sutapa Sikdar to reminisce about their long-standing friendship, which began on the set of the 1994 film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. Khan recalled working as a choreographer while Sikdar worked in costume design. The conversation also touched upon the early career of the late Irrfan Khan. Khan and Babil discussed the actor’s period of struggle in the industry, with Babil confirming that his mother supported his father financially during his time at the National School of Drama (NSD). The visit concluded with the group sharing stories about their past experiences in the film industry.
