Lokomotiv Plovdiv is planning a significant squad selection following the sale of Romanian player Catalin Itu to CSKA, according to *Match Telegraph*.
The “Black-and-Whites” are currently looking to sign at least three new players to fill the gaps left by both Itu and striker Joel Zwart, who was sold to CSKA earlier in the season. Lokomotiv is expected to bring in either two wingers and one striker, or conversely, two strikers and one winger.
The team is currently experiencing difficulties in its attacking line. In their last match—an away game against Levski at the Gerena stadium—the attack was led by 19-year-old Axel Velev. The club academy graduate is still searching for his first elite-level goal, having failed to score in his 18 appearances so far. Another attacking option is Julien Lamy, though he has been inconsistent and is now expected to play as a winger following Itu’s departure.
According to information from the Lauta stadium, Lokomotiv’s first new addition is expected to join the team by the middle of next week.
