Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with United States Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe in Cairo to discuss the ongoing crisis in Sudan. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Hassan Rashad.
According to Egyptian presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the discussions focused on the situation in Sudan. President el-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s unity, stability, and the preservation of its legitimate national institutions. He emphasized that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan are fundamental principles that must be upheld.
President el-Sisi further highlighted Egypt’s active involvement in various international and regional frameworks aimed at addressing the conflict. He stated that these efforts are intended to facilitate an end to the war, alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Sudanese people, and support a path toward a political settlement.
