The Executive Director of Khartoum Locality, Abdel Moneim Al-Bashir, has issued a directive requiring all vendors in discounted sales markets to display fixed price tags on their goods. During an inspection of the Al-Karama market in Abu Hamama and the Al-Khaima market in Arkweit, Al-Bashir mandated that all merchants adhere to established discounted pricing and prohibited the display of merchandise outside designated shop boundaries.

Al-Bashir warned that merchants who fail to comply with these pricing regulations and operational guidelines face the revocation of their site permits. In such cases, the locations will be reassigned to entities willing to operate under the required terms for discounted markets.

To further stabilize prices and combat market speculation, the locality has instructed administrative and market departments to coordinate with the Strategic Commodities Administration. This initiative aims to attract more food producers and manufacturers to sell essential goods at production costs. Additionally, companies operating within these markets have been encouraged to increase their supply on Fridays to accommodate higher consumer demand.

The Executive Director also announced plans to reactivate dormant discounted markets and deploy mobile markets as part of the state’s efforts to reduce the cost of living for residents. Regarding the broader market situation, Al-Bashir noted that the Khartoum local market continues to function normally, with a steady supply of essential goods for both wholesalers and consumers. He reported a noticeable decline in some prices over the past two days and expressed expectations for continued price stability as a result of ongoing state interventions.
