Attorney Martin George has been charged with two counts of sexual assault following an arrest at his office in Port-of-Spain. The operation, conducted by police between 2.40 pm and 5 pm, was the culmination of months of investigation led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin and her team. George, who is also the president of the Tobago Business Chamber, faces charges of grievous sexual assault and indecent assault, based on legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions received on July 2. The complaint against him was filed in March, and the police have assured that there were multiple consultations with the DPP’s office throughout the investigation. George is set to appear before a Master of the High Court today.
