Vernon Guischard, a businessman and owner of MCM Garage and Vehicle Testing Station in Barataria, was tragically murdered on July 8, 2025. The incident unfolded when Guischard, who was at work, noticed an intruder attempting to break into his home through CCTV footage. He promptly shared the alarming footage with his son, who resides in the United States, as well as with his co-workers. Despite attempts by his son to reach him, Guischard did not respond. Concerned for his father’s safety, the son asked a relative to check on him. Unfortunately, the relative discovered Guischard dead at his residence with a gunshot wound to the head. Disturbingly, reports indicate that his two guard dogs had been poisoned, adding a tragic layer to this heinous crime.
