Archbishop Jason Gordon expressed concerns about the country’s growing trend towards self-gratification, suggesting that people have started believing they are entitled to everything they desire. Gordon shared these thoughts during his Ash Wednesday homily at the Pro-Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, where he reminded the congregation that Lent is a season for spiritual growth and strengthening one’s relationship with God. The Archbishop likened the Lenten season to a time of honeymoon, inviting people to draw close to God. He observed that society, and the world at large, are defending wrongful actions as if they were right, causing a state of moral confusion. Despite this, Gordon urged his listeners to heed the call of Jesus to return to Him wholeheartedly.
