The Amulsar gold mining project in Vayots Dzor has reached a major safety milestone: one million working hours without a single lost-time accident. Health and Safety Supervisor Levon Hovhannisyan announced the achievement, attributing it to the dedication of all 1,200 workers on site.
Hovhannisyan, who grew up in nearby Gndevaz village, helped implement rigorous safety protocols. He began his career at Lydian Armenia as a health and safety monitor a decade ago, after training as an economist.
The milestone underscores the international safety standards maintained at Amulsar, which resumed construction in 2025 after a seven-year suspension. Lydian Armenia continues to prioritize worker safety and environmental compliance.
