Lauderhill Florida Declares March 8 Kamla Persad-Bissessar Day

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has received international recognition after the City of Lauderhill in Florida officially declared March 8, 2026 as “The Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar Day.”
The proclamation was issued by Lauderhill Mayor Denise D. Grant and the City Commission as part of International Women’s Day celebrations. The document recognises Persad-Bissessar’s leadership, dedication to public service and her lasting influence on Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean diaspora.
