Rupchand Simboo, a 75-year-old man, has been arrested by the police in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Salisha Ali. This arrest was made after human remains, later identified as Ali’s, were found in different locations in Queens over a period of several months. The remains were first discovered in September 2025 near John F. Kennedy International Airport by sanitation workers. Ali, originally from Brazil Village, had lost contact with her family in Trinidad and Tobago who had been trying to reach her for months. Simboo has been charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and obstructing governmental administration.
