Linder Alexander, a 73-year-old resident of Guaico Tamana, was found deceased after an extensive search effort. She was reported missing on Monday, August 3, 2026, after leaving her home to collect a hamper. Her last known whereabouts were in the Sangre Grande area, where she was reportedly spotted near Scotiabank and was seen heading towards Market Street.
The search for Alexander involved her family members and the Registered Hunters Search and Rescue Team. They scoured several areas in an effort to locate her. The search efforts included areas around the Sangre Grande Hospital, Blake Avenue, and sections of the Mayaro Main Road, among other locations.
During the search, Commander Shamsudeen Ayube of the search and rescue team personally found Alexander’s body. The discovery marked the end of a challenging search operation that had the community on edge.
