The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism has announced that 47 hotels and resorts in Indonesia have been included in the 2026 Global Michelin Guide, marking a significant increase from the 33 properties recognized in the previous year. This achievement positions Indonesia as the country with the second-highest number of Michelin Key-holding hotels in Southeast Asia, trailing only Thailand.
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana commended the hospitality sector for this accomplishment, noting that it reflects the rising competitiveness of Indonesia’s tourism industry. The selections were made from a pool of approximately 9,000 properties worldwide and were officially published on September 18, 2026.
The Michelin Keys are awarded based on five criteria: architectural design and aesthetics, harmony with the surrounding environment, consistency of service, staff hospitality, and the property’s ability to provide an authentic local experience. The 2026 list includes three properties awarded 3 Keys, 11 properties awarded 2 Keys, and 33 properties awarded 1 Key.
The three properties receiving the 3 Keys designation for an extraordinary stay are Nihi Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara, Amanjiwo in Central Java, and Mandapa Ritz Carlton Reserve in Bali.
The 11 properties awarded 2 Keys for an exceptional stay include Amankila, The Sanchaya, The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Soori Bali, Capella Ubud, Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, Bvlgari Resort Bali, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, Buahan a Banyan Tree Escape, The Langham Jakarta, and Raffles Bali.
Additionally, 33 properties were awarded 1 Key for a very special stay, including Como Shambala Estate, Capung Sebali, Amandari, Viceroy Bali, Bisma Eight Ubud, Plataran Komodo Resort and Spa, Desa Potato Head Bali, Blue Karma Village, Cap Koroso, Hotel Tugu Lombok, La Reserve 1785 Canggu, Lost Lindeberg, The Puri Villas and Spa, Revivo Wellness Resort Nusa Dua Bali, Nirjhara, and Jimbaran Puri: A Belmond Hotel Bali.
The list also features The Ridge Bali, The Legian Seminyak, Raffles Jakarta, Hotel Le Temple Borobudur, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Innit Lombok, Garrya Bianti Yogyakarta, The St. Regis Jakarta, The Ungasan Cliffton Resort, Jumeirah Bali, Desa Hay Canggu, Park Hyatt Jakarta, Taaktana Luxury Collection Resort and Spa Labuan Bajo, The Orient Jakarta: a Royal Hideaway Hotel, and The St. Regis Bali Resort.
