A 27-year-old Chaguanas resident has been apprehended following an alleged assault on a Licensing Officer in Curepe, on March 9, 2026. According to the Las Lomas Police Post, the incident occurred near the East Grove Housing Development on the Southern Main Road. The Licensing Officer, while performing his duties, was reportedly assaulted by a green band maxi taxi driver. The suspect allegedly struck the officer twice with his fist, chased the Licensing Authority vehicle with a wheel spanner, and then fled. After inquires, the suspect was later identified and arrested at the Caroni Licensing Office. Both the suspect and the Licensing Officer were taken to the St. Joseph Police Station as the investigation is ongoing.
