**Ghanaian Maritime Authority Deploys New Oil‑Spill Response Vessel**

The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) has deployed the MV Esther Ocloo, a 40‑metre multi‑purpose oil‑spill response vessel, to the Western Naval Command (WNC). The vessel is equipped to detect, monitor and respond to pollution threats across Ghana’s maritime space.

The MV Esther Ocloo is expected to strengthen the country’s preparedness for marine pollution incidents and enhance its ability to protect coastal and marine environments. The deployment marks a new phase in Ghana’s efforts to address oil‑spill and other marine pollution challenges.
