$17,000 Samsung Phone Stolen at KFC

A high-value cellphone was reported stolen from KFC, located at Independence Square, Port of Spain. The incident took place at around 8:40 p.m. on March 23, 2026. The victim reportedly left their black Samsung S24 Ultra, valued at $17,000, on the cashier’s counter while placing an order.

Shortly after receiving their meal and taking a seat, the victim realised the phone had been left on the counter. Despite the haste to retrieve it, the device was nowhere to be found. Inquiries were made with the staff, but none could confirm witnessing the phone being taken.

The victim stressed that no permission had been given for anyone to remove the device from the counter. The phone, which was purchased through a hire purchase arrangement, now forms the basis of a police investigation.

Following the report, officers visited the scene and conducted an initial investigation. As of now, inquiries into the incident are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they emerge.
