William Zepeda Wins Vacant WBC Lightweight Championship
On August 1, William Zepeda defeated former WBA junior lightweight world champion Lamont Roach, Jr. in Las Vegas to win the vacant WBC lightweight championship. Zepeda, who entered the fight as an underdog, improved his record to 34-1 with 27 knockouts. Roach, on the other hand, now stands at 25-2-3 with 10 knockouts.
