Zayed Sustainability Prize Closes 2027 Cycle with Record 10,000+ Entries

The Zayed Sustainability Prize has closed its 2027 submissions cycle with a record-breaking 10,084 entries from 177 countries, marking the highest participation in the prize’s history.

The 32% year-on-year increase reflects sustained momentum for local-led, scalable solutions to global challenges. The UAE-based award, established in 2008, has positively impacted more than 411 million lives through its 139 winners.

Prize categories include Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Global High Schools. The strong response underscores growing international commitment to sustainability innovation, with potential implications for developing nations like Liberia seeking to adopt impactful solutions.
