**Yemen’s Government Forces Report Houthi Missile Launches and Drone Interception**
*Aden, Yemen –* Government forces in Yemen announced on Thursday that Houthi militants fired ballistic missiles targeting islands in the Red Sea. The statement, issued from the capital of the internationally recognized government, said the missiles were launched from Houthi‑controlled areas and struck several islands situated in the strategic waterway.
In a separate incident, the same forces reported that a Houthi‑operated unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) was shot down by Yemeni air defenses. No casualties were reported in either the missile strikes or the drone interception, according to the government’s statement.
The government forces did not provide further details on the specific islands affected, the number of missiles launched, or the type of drone involved. No independent verification of the claims has been made at this time.
