Yellow Alert: Trinidad and Tobago Brace for Heavy Showers

A Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert is in effect for Trinidad and Tobago, from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025. The Met Service anticipates heavy showers and thunderstorms, particularly during the morning and early afternoon hours. While the majority of the thunderstorm activity may occur offshore, east of the islands, impactful weather conditions could still extend to land. The risk of street and flash flooding is heightened due to increased atmospheric moisture and the potential for additional rainfall on already saturated ground, which may trigger landslides or landslips. Gusty winds could also develop near heavy showers. Residents and motorists, especially those in flood-prone or hilly regions, are advised to remain vigilant, exercise caution, and stay updated with official weather forecasts at www.metoffice.gov.tt.
