Yangwang U9 Xtreme i BYD bëhet makina e parë e prodhimit që kalon 500 km/h me rekordin 503,17 km/h në Abu Dhabi

BYD’s luxury electric hypercar, the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, set a new world speed record on 1 November 2026, reaching 503.17 km/h (312.8 mph) on a closed section of the E11 highway in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi. The record was confirmed by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and awarded by Guinness World Records, making the U9 Xtreme the first production car to exceed 500 km/h. The record run was piloted by German driver Marc Basseng. The U9 Xtreme had previously held the production‑car speed record, having reached 496.22 km/h in September 2025 at the ATP Papenburg circuit in Germany. The new run broke that mark by more than 7 km/h. The U9 Xtreme’s performance is enabled by four electric motors that together produce over 3,000 hp (2,200 kW). Each motor can deliver up to 555 kW and 30,000 rpm, giving the car a power‑to‑weight ratio of 1,217 hp per ton. The vehicle’s 1,200‑volt electrical architecture allows currents of up to 1,000 A. Its Blade LFP battery can discharge at 30C, delivering up to 1,800 kW even when only 20 % charged. Other technical features include 700 kW of regenerative braking, an active DiSus‑X suspension system that keeps the car stable at extreme speeds, and half‑slick tires supplied by Giti Tire. The U9 Xtreme also holds the electric‑car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, with a time of 6 minutes 59.157 seconds. Only 30 U9 Xtreme hypercars will be produced. Early customers have completed their configurations and are in the contract phase, but the price has not yet been disclosed.
