Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China, sent congratulations to Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, on the 78th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.
The message was issued on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, and was reported by Xinhua News and distributed through the North Korea Times.
The congratulatory note was part of the ongoing diplomatic exchanges between China and North Korea.
