Wrecking Operations Resume in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago

Motorists across Trinidad and Tobago have received notice that wrecking operations are now back in force in Port of Spain. The resumption comes after a brief pause that left many drivers uncertain about where and how to retrieve abandoned vehicles.

Wrecking services run Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Owners wishing to recover their cars must pay a $500 fee, which can be settled directly at the academy’s recovery desk. The fee covers the cost of towing, storage, and administrative handling.

There will also be wrecking in Woodbrook on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays evenings, from 6:00 pm until 2:00 am. Vehicle owners can pay the same $500 fee and collect their property at the Woodbrook station, where staff will verify ownership and provide necessary paperwork. Motorists are advised to bring all required documents—proof of ownership, registration, and identification—to avoid delays.

For further details, drivers may contact the Police Academy or Woodbrook station by phone or visit the official municipal website. The operations are part of a broader effort to manage illegal parking and maintain public safety across the island.
