A woman has reportedly been defrauded of TT$24,484 by an individual posing as a customs broker at the Port of Port of Spain. The victim had been seeking to clear items shipped from the United States when she was introduced to the alleged broker, Amber Miller, by an on-duty customs officer. The suspect quoted a fee of TT$3,500 for her services, which the victim agreed to pay in installments. After paying a total of TT$24,484, the victim discovered that the services promised were not delivered. Attempts to contact the alleged broker have been futile, prompting a police investigation into the matter.
