Hassina Mathura, a 69-year-old woman, is steadily recovering at home following a severe accident where her left arm was crushed under a Public Transport Service Corporation bus. The incident occurred last month, just a short distance from Mathura’s residence in Palmyra, near San Fernando. Six metal plates were surgically put in place to mend the fractures. After being released from the hospital two weeks ago, she continues her treatment at the orthopedic outpatient clinic. Mathura’s sister, Ashmoon Lalchan, shares that doctors remain hopeful about her recovery and Mathura is grateful for all the support she’s received. In reaction to the incident, the PTSC has begun an internal review in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and is working closely with investigators from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
