A serene Montrose community was disrupted on Monday when an unidentified woman was fatally shot along Maraj Street. Believed to be in her 30s and of mixed descent, the victim was allegedly tossed from a moving vehicle before being shot in the head around 5 p.m. Witnesses reported a silver vehicle fleeing the scene. The woman was unfamiliar to local residents and is suspected to have been transported from another location. Her body lay on the road for about 30 minutes before police arrived. This is the first occurrence of such an incident in the usually peaceful neighborhood. The rising violent crime rate in Central Trinidad has left residents feeling uneasy. Police are still investigating the murder and the victim’s identity remains unknown.
