A 50-year-old father of two from La Romaine, Dennis Nehorah, died in a tragic road accident on Friday afternoon after his vehicle caught fire along the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Gasparillo.
According to reports, Nehorah was returning home from the gym around 1:30 p.m. when he lost control of his Mitsubishi Lancer. The car reportedly veered off the roadway and crashed into nearby bushes, where it subsequently caught fire. Nehorah was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene.
Employees from Nicholas and Sons Funeral Home assisted authorities in removing Nehorah’s body from the burnt wreckage.
Several police officers and fire officials responded to the scene and conducted preliminary investigations. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and investigations are continuing.
Family members who arrived at the scene were visibly distraught and declined to comment. Friends of the deceased were also present but chose not to speak with members of the media.
The fatal accident has once again highlighted concerns about road safety along the Solomon Hochoy Highway, as police continue their efforts to determine what led to the deadly crash.
