WEATHER UPDATE – ADVERSE CONDITIONS EXPECTED
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert for the entire country, forecasting periods of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and possible flooding and landslides.
The alert will be in effect from 11:00 p.m. tonight (Saturday, December 6, 2025) until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday, December 7, 2025).
Unsettled atmospheric conditions are expected to bring intermittent showers—some heavy at times—with a 60% chance of isolated thunderstorms. Gusty winds over 55 km/h may accompany heavier bursts of rainfall, increasing the risk of rough seas and damage to unsecured outdoor items.
The TTMS cautions that these conditions could result in street and flash flooding, localised ponding, and landslips/landslides, particularly in low-lying and hilly areas.
Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor items, stay alert, and exercise caution—especially motorists and individuals in flood-prone or landslide-prone communities.
While the most significant activity is expected during the alert period, additional showers may occur before and after the advisory window. Stay tuned for updates and monitor official channels for changes in conditions.
