[Watch] Batik Air Passenger Tried To Open The Emergency Exit Mid-Flight; At Cruising Altitude, He Never Could Have

A passenger on a Batik Air flight attempted to open the emergency exit mid-flight, causing concern among those on board. The incident occurred on flight OD231, where a Kerala passenger, seated in the emergency exit row, allegedly kicked open the exit window panel.

According to reports, the passenger’s actions resulted in a rush of air being heard by other passengers. However, due to the plane’s cruising altitude, the pressurization of the cabin would have prevented the emergency exit door from opening. The primary concern was the potential structural damage caused by the incident, which could have risked depressurization.

The passenger, identified as Jamsheer, an Indian national, was arrested upon landing and booked under multiple charges. Investigations into his motives are ongoing, and it has been reported that no alcohol was detected in his system at the time of the incident.

The incident highlights the importance of passenger safety and the potential consequences of tampering with emergency exits on an aircraft. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
