The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has announced a planned water supply disruption affecting several areas in North-East Trinidad on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This interruption is necessary to carry out urgent desilting work at the intake of the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant, which aims to enhance production levels. Affected areas include Sangre Grande, Malabar, La Horquetta, and several others. Following the maintenance, it may take up to 12 hours for water supply to return to normal in some regions.
