Mathieu van der Poel secured a victory in the final stage of the Tour of Luxembourg after completing a 175-kilometer solo breakaway. The Dutch cyclist initiated the move shortly after the start of the race and maintained his lead until the finish line, successfully holding off the rest of the field.
Following the race, Van der Poel noted that the long-range attack was not part of his original strategy before the start. The performance serves as a final preparation for the upcoming World Championships.
