Violent Morvant Robbery Shocks Community

An investigation is underway following a violent robbery that took place in the Morvant Police District on Wednesday, July 17th, 2025. The incident occurred at around 1:00 p.m. when four men, aged between 25 and 32, traveled to William Street, off Lady Young Road, to inspect a silver Nissan Y12 Wingroad advertised for sale on Facebook Marketplace for $35,000. Upon their arrival, they were confronted by four armed assailants who assaulted them and stole their belongings. One victim, a 25-year-old from Todd’s Road, Chaguanas, suffered severe injuries and is currently hospitalized at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. The robbers made off with a Samsung Galaxy A55 smartphone, wallets containing personal identification and bank cards, and approximately $1,200 in cash. They also stole the victims’ black Toyota Hilux vehicle, registration TCL 6800, which has been processed by Crime Scene Investigators. Descriptions of three of the suspects have been noted, with WPC Monroy from the Morvant CID leading the ongoing investigation.
