A domestic dispute turned violent on July 24, 2025, when a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the neck by the mother of his child after he allegedly slapped her during an argument. The incident occurred around 8:05 p.m. at their residence on Duncan Street in Port of Spain. Following the altercation, the man sought help at a nearby police post and was subsequently transported to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment. Officers from the Port of Spain CID, led by W/Cpl Ashby, responded to the scene, taking statements and processing the incident, although no weapon was found. The woman, 32, was arrested and also taken to the hospital before being detained at the Woodbrook Police Station. Investigations are still ongoing to gather further details regarding the incident.
