Violence Erupts in Cocorite

In Cocorite, Trinidad, a man identified by police as a “pusherman” was shot on the evening of July 8, 2025. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when Michael Joseph, who resides on Sage Street, was near a dumpster at a dead end on Nile Street. A lone gunman approached him and opened fire, resulting in gunshot wounds to Joseph’s left elbow and leg. He was quickly transported to the hospital and is currently reported to be in stable condition. Known to law enforcement for his involvement in narcotics activity in the St. James area, Joseph’s shooting has prompted the police to initiate an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
