In a shocking incident in Siparia, police are on the hunt for a suspect accused of assaulting a 14-year-old girl and subsequently setting fire to her mother’s home on Saturday night. The events unfolded around 9:45 PM when the suspect allegedly entered the residence of a 29-year-old woman at Gamble Street Extension, where he attacked both the teenager and her mother. After the assault, the victims managed to escape and sought help from police. The suspect allegedly threatened to burn down the house before igniting flames inside. The mother bravely attempted to extinguish the fire but was forced to flee into nearby bushes as the flames spread rapidly. She later sought medical attention for burns to her back and shoulder at the Siparia District Health Facility. Sadly, the entire house was destroyed, and though the extent of the damage is still being assessed, a manhunt for the suspect is currently underway. Fortunately, police have ensured the safety of the mother and daughter during this distressing time.
