(VIDEO) Indhira de Jesús a quienes vendan municiones a Haití: “Deben declararse traidores a la patria”

In Santo Domingo, a member of the Dominican Republic’s National Assembly made a statement that drew attention on Sunday. Indhira de Jesús, a deputy for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), said that individuals who sell ammunition to Haiti should be declared “traitors to the nation” and held accountable under the law. “A Dominican cannot conduct business against our country,” she said, adding that those who do must face the full weight of the law. De Jesús delivered the remarks during the launch of the National Youth Command, an organization that supports the presidential campaign of Carolina Mejía, the mayor of the Distrito Nacional. The event was positioned as a rallying point for young voters ahead of the 2028 elections. In her comments, de Jesús praised the youth’s enthusiasm for Mejía’s candidacy, noting that the young people had “voluntarily chosen to support Carolina Mejía, showing strength and believing in a woman who has proven her capability in public administration.”
