The Finnish Air Force has announced that an F-35 fighter jet, which was left behind in the Azores due to a technical issue, will be transported to Finland during the autumn. The aircraft was part of the first batch of F-35s destined for the Finnish fleet.
According to the Air Force, the jet remained in the Azores after experiencing an avionics fault. Officials are currently in the process of delivering the necessary spare parts to the location to facilitate repairs.
The delivery schedule for the initial batch of aircraft was not delayed by the incident, as the flight was supported by aerial refueling tankers. The affected F-35 fighter is now scheduled to be transported to Finland alongside the next delivery of aircraft.
