A 55-year-old taxi driver was shot in the thigh during an early morning robbery in Penal. The incident occurred when two men, later identified as Venezuelan nationals, boarded his vehicle and held him at gunpoint. A struggle ensued, resulting in the driver being shot. Despite his injury, the driver managed to alert nearby security officers at the Heritage compound, leading to the immediate pursuit and successful apprehension of the suspects. A loaded Smith & Wesson revolver was recovered from the scene. The driver received treatment for his injuries and was subsequently discharged. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
