On July 30th, 2025, around 1:30 p.m., a coordinated police operation led by Sgt. Boodlal at a makeshift camp off Snail Trace in Penal resulted in the arrest of four Venezuelan nationals. The officers, acting on intelligence, discovered the men gathered around a fire approximately 30 feet from the roadway. During the operation, PC Boodhan spotted a shotgun leaning against a wooden post and a nearby bag containing shotgun cartridges. When the police announced their presence, the suspects fled into the bushes, but all four men were apprehended shortly after. The suspects, identified as Neso Medina (20), Moy Edwardo (23), Antonio Bolino (28), and Hariel Gonzales (19), are all unemployed and hail from Tucupita, Venezuela. They were taken to the Penal Police Station along with the confiscated firearm and ammunition, and investigations are ongoing.
