Justice Minister of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, has criticized Trinidad and Tobago’s interference in Venezuela’s affairs, describing it as ‘shameful.’ He also implied the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago would be disgruntled with their leaders for taking such positions. His comments follow a statement by Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who said she would permit US forces to use the country’s territory to defend Guyana from a potential Venezuelan attack. This is the latest in a series of scathing comments directed at Persad-Bissessar, where he had previously called her ‘crazy’ and accused Trinidad and Tobago of harbouring terrorists intending to destabilize Venezuela.
