V’ghn wins Jab Artist of the Year at Caribbean Music Awards

Grenadian soca artiste V’ghn has won Jab Artist of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, adding a major regional honour to his growing list of achievements.

The award was presented during the fourth annual Caribbean Music Awards, held at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, on Saturday, September 19. The ceremony marked the first time the awards were staged in the Caribbean.

V’ghn was among eight artistes nominated for Jab Artist of the Year, alongside Capital Jab, Dred Lion, Jab King, Khalifah, Lil Kerry, Muddy and Tallpree.

The Grenadian artiste entered the awards as one of the ceremony’s most heavily nominated performers, receiving seven nominations across the Jab and Soca categories. His nominations included Male Soca Artist of the Year, Soca Performer of the Year, Soca Collaboration of the Year and Soca Impact Award. His collaboration with Terra D Governor, “Jab Decisions,” also received multiple nominations.

The Jab Artist of the Year category was introduced as part of the Caribbean Music Awards’ expanded recognition of distinct musical genres and cultural movements across the region.

V’ghn’s victory gives Grenada another moment in the regional spotlight and recognises his contribution to the country’s distinctive Jab and soca sound.
