The University of the West Indies (UWI) has recently announced its new guild executive for the 2026/2027 term. The guild, a fundamental body within the university, is now led by Joshua Jitta, serving as Guild President. Jitta’s leadership will be instrumental in representing students’ interests and steering the university’s trajectory.
Alongside Jitta, Ryan Duncan has been appointed as the Guild Vice President. Duncan will provide support to the President and step into the role should the need arise. Both Jitta and Duncan are entrusted with the responsibility of making significant decisions that impact the university’s operations.
The Guild Secretary, a vital role handling communication and record-keeping, is now filled by Johanna Julien. On the other hand, the financial affairs of the guild will be managed by the newly appointed Guild Treasurer, Anaqet Williams. These positions collectively represent the primary management body of the UWI.
The guild executive plays a key role in the university’s affairs, with each member having distinct responsibilities. Their decisions not only shape the university’s policies but also have a significant influence on the student body’s life and learning environment.
