Utah Domestic Call Turns Deadly for Two Officers

On August 17, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Utah when two police officers were fatally shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call. The fallen officers were identified as Sgt. Lee Sorensen, 56, and Officer Eric Estrada, 31, both of the Tremonton-Garland Police Department. As reinforcements arrived at the scene, a sheriff’s deputy and police dog were wounded by gunfire from the suspect’s weapon. The suspect was later apprehended after being persuaded by bystanders to drop his gun.
