Usean auton onnettomuus Lahdenväylällä

A chain collision involving several cars occurred on the Lahdenväylä between Vantaa and Kerava on Saturday morning. The incident was captured on video by an Iltalehti reader who was passing the site around 7:15 a.m. The footage shows emergency lights flashing and a traffic jam that stretched all the way to Kerava. According to the reader, the weather at the time was rainy and dark, conditions that may have contributed to the crash. The video also shows that at least six emergency units from the Keski-Uudenmaan and Helsingin fire departments were on the scene. Iltalehti requested more detailed information from the two fire departments, but neither agency was able to provide specifics, citing a shift change. The fire services have recently updated their reporting procedures. In September, the automatic first‑report system was discontinued, and local fire departments will now issue incident reports as they are able. A new media service is expected to launch by 10 November to facilitate this process.
