US Secretary Applauds T&T on Independence, Stresses Partnership

The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has warmly congratulated the people of Trinidad and Tobago on their 63rd Independence anniversary. In his message, Rubio highlighted the strength of the partnership between the two nations, emphasizing their mutual efforts in the fight against transnational criminal organizations, disruption of drug-trafficking networks, and the advancement of regional energy security. Rubio stated that these collaborations demonstrate the significance of the relationship between the US and Trinidad and Tobago and the positive effect this has across the hemisphere. He concluded by expressing the US’s eagerness to continue working closely with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s administration in promoting regional security, economic growth, and long-term stability.
