The US diplomat cited the political situations in Venezuela and Cuba, warning that basic rights can lead to punishment in some societies. The conference also emphasized the role of women in Trinidad and Tobago’s economy, stating that while women constitute nearly half of the labor force, they are under-represented in senior leadership roles and high-growth industries.
