On Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, passengers aboard the Galleons Passage experienced an unexpected delay. The vessel, which had departed from Port of Spain at 2:30 pm, found itself circling outside the Scarborough Port at around 10:30 pm, unable to dock due to the unavailability of the docking ramp.
As the hours wore on, passengers found their frustrations growing. The canteen had closed long before the delay began, leaving passengers without access to food or water while they waited for clearance to dock.
Tensions escalated on board as the delay continued, with passengers restless and increasingly distressed. In an attempt to alleviate some of the discomfort, crew members opened the rear doors of the vessel to allow fresh air in.
To date, the vessel remains in limbo, circling the Scarborough Port as it awaits clearance to dock. The situation serves as a stark reminder of the potential challenges that can arise in maritime travel.
