A 51-year-old man was killed in an incident of social intolerance in San Miguel, El Salvador. According to the National Civil Police, the victim was walking in the district when he was attacked by Manuel de Jesús Sol Molina, 42, who allegedly used a blunt object to inflict fatal injuries.
The police reported that Sol Molina assaulted the victim because he took offense to something the victim said as he passed by. The incident occurred on Friday, August 31. Authorities stated that Sol Molina, who is reportedly struggling with drug addiction, was detained and charged with homicide.
The case was registered as the only homicide to occur in El Salvador on that day. Sol Molina was referred to the Attorney General’s Office to face charges. The police investigation found that the motive behind the attack was social intolerance, sparked by a verbal exchange between the suspect and the victim.
